If you are a musician and are interested in information about becoming a member of Suburban Symphony, read the paragraphs below.  Be aware that membership involves a significant commitment to attend rehearsals and concerts on a consistent basis.

We are always looking for good string players. In lieu of an audition, string players with good qualifications may be invited to a rehearsal where they will be paired with an experienced member. At the end of the rehearsal, it is usually obvious to both the member and the prospective member whether continued affiliation is appropriate, subject to acceptance by the section leader and the music director.

At present, there are no openings for winds, although we occasionally need substitute winds for a single rehearsal or concert. There are often openings for percussionists. These positions are filled by application and audition. If you are a percussionist, or a woodwind or brass player, and are interested, read on.

Rehearsals are on Wednesday evenings, 7:30 to 10:00 pm, usually at Beachwood High School (SE corner of Fairmount Blvd. and Richmond Rd. intersection). Members are expected to attend all rehearsals and concerts.

Please come to a concert and introduce yourself to the leader of the section you are interested in joining.  We are inactive during the summer, but we rehearse on Wednesday evenings from late August to early May.
